How Excel to PDF works

Excel to PDF prints a spreadsheet into a PDF page. Wide sheets may need to be read across more than one page.

Formulas are not kept as live formulas. The PDF shows the values that were in the file.

Steps

1. Drop an .xlsx file.
2. Convert and download the PDF.
3. Check that the header row is still readable.
4. Hide sheets you do not want to share before you convert, if the file contains them.

Limits

Very wide workbooks and heavy charts can clip or move. This reads .xlsx, not every old .xls file.

Sheets become pages

The PDF is a view of the sheet, not a live workbook. Formulas are not recalculated later by the person who only has the PDF.

Very wide sheets can clip. Check the rightmost column on the download before you send a price list.
