How File to voice works

File to voice reads a document aloud in the browser. Use it to proof a draft or listen to a short PDF or text file.

The voice is the speech voice installed on your device. Quality and language depend on that device, not on a Pi2PDF studio.

Steps

1. Drop a file with real text, or paste words.
2. Start playback.
3. Stop it when you have heard the part you needed.
4. Use OCR first if the file is only a scan.

Limits

A scanned PDF with no text layer has nothing to read until OCR has run.

Reading text the file already has

The tool extracts text and speaks it with the browser voice. A scan with no text layer has little or nothing to read. Run OCR first for printed English.

Playback uses this device. Closing the tab stops it. It is not an audio file you can mail unless your browser offers that separately.
