How PDF to CSV works

PDF to CSV exports readable text rows as a comma-separated file. Use it when another program needs a plain table, not a formatted spreadsheet.

Commas inside a cell can shift columns. Open the CSV in a spreadsheet once and confirm the header row.

Steps

  1. Drop a PDF that already contains selectable text.
  2. Run PDF to CSV and download the file.
  3. Open it and check the first row of headings.
  4. Re-export from Excel if you need a different delimiter.

Limits

A photo of a table will not become CSV. Run OCR, or type the few rows you need.

Why a column can shift

CSV has no fonts and no merged cells. A comma that was part of a description can split one cell into two. Open the file once and check that the header row still lines up with the data.

Use PDF to Excel if you want a workbook. Use CSV when another program asked for a plain table.
