How PDF to Excel works
PDF to Excel pulls tables and text into a spreadsheet. It is meant for invoices, price lists, and simple grids, not for a poster that happens to contain a few numbers.
If the PDF has no real table structure, the rows may land in one column. Clean that in Excel rather than expecting a perfect workbook.
Steps
- Drop the PDF on PDF to Excel.
- Convert it in this tab and download the .xlsx file.
- Open the sheet and check that each column still means what it did on the page.
- Fix merged cells and totals before you rely on formulas.
Limits
Scanned tables need OCR first. Nested headers and pages that mix photos with numbers often need a manual pass.
What lands in the sheet
Rows come from text positions, not from an Excel file that was hidden inside the PDF. A real invoice table usually becomes cells. A poster with a few numbers often becomes one long column.
Totals and merged headers need a look before you sort or sum. Scanned grids stay blank until you OCR them.
