How Voice to PDF works
Voice to PDF types what the microphone hears and saves that text as a PDF. You need a browser that allows speech recognition and a quiet room.
Speech often uses the browser’s own speech service, so the audio path is not the same as dropping a PDF.
Steps
- Allow the microphone.
- Speak, then stop when the text looks right.
- Edit the transcript if a word is wrong.
- Save the PDF and read it once.
Limits
Names, accents, and background noise are misheard. Do not dictate a secret you would not want a speech service to process.
Dictation depends on the browser
You speak, the browser turns speech into text, and that text is saved as a PDF. Chrome and similar browsers send audio to their own speech service. That is separate from the PDF step.
Read the transcript before you download. Names and numbers are where dictation fails. There is no account and no saved recording on Pi2PDF.
