How Zip PDF works

Zip PDF packs files into a .zip archive. It does not merge pages or change what is inside each PDF.

Use it when a form asks for one attachment and you have several files.

Steps

  1. Drop the files you want in the archive.
  2. Create the zip and download it.
  3. Open the zip and confirm every name is there.
  4. Use Merge PDF instead if you need one PDF, not a folder of files.

Limits

Zip reduces size only when the contents compress. An already-compressed JPEG or PDF may barely shrink.

An archive, not a smaller PDF

Zip packs the PDFs you dropped into one .zip. The PDF bytes are stored as they are, because a PDF is already compressed. The archive will not be much smaller than the files you put in.

If you wanted one PDF, use Merge. If you wanted a lighter PDF, use Compress.
