PDF, QR, and design in this browser
Convert, merge, compress, scan, and sign PDFs. Make a QR code, open the design board, or format text you paste. The file stays in this tab and is not posted to a Pi2PDF conversion server. Each tool page says what it does and where it stops.
How to pick a tool, and what the result will not do
This is a working PDF toolkit with written limits, not a list of keyword pages. Start from the file you want when you are done: an editable document, one combined PDF, a smaller attachment, or text copied off a scan.
A single PDF can be 25 MB. A batch can be 100 MB. Larger files need a desktop app. If you close the tab before you download, the working copy is gone. There is no Pi2PDF folder of your documents.
Text that is already in the PDF
PDF to Word, Excel, CSV, PowerPoint, and text read a text layer that is already in the file. A letter exported from Word usually has one. A phone photo of a page does not. Those tools will not invent paragraphs from pixels.
Open the download and check it before you send it. Headings, tables, and multi-column pages often need a manual pass. A designed brochure or a government form will not match Adobe Acrobat.
Making a PDF from something else
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, images, and plain text can go the other way, into a PDF. Modern Office files (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx) are the ones these tools read. A .doc from an old version of Word is a different format.
Keep the original if you still need to edit. The PDF is the copy you send or archive.
One file, several files, or the wrong page order
Merge stacks two or more PDFs into one, in the order you drop them. Split pulls pages out of one PDF. Leave the range box empty to get every page as its own file, or type ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-9. Organize reorders, rotates, or drops pages inside a single PDF.
Zip only packs the files you dropped into an archive. PDFs are stored as-is, so a zip will not shrink the pages. It is the wrong tool if you wanted one combined PDF.
Compress: three settings, two different results
Better quality copies the original pages and rewrites the file with object streams. Letters that were real text stay selectable. If the file barely shrinks, it was already lean, or it is a scan made of pictures.
Balanced redraws every page as a JPEG at twice the page resolution, JPEG quality 0.92. Smallest does the same at about 1.45 times resolution and JPEG quality 0.82. Those two downloads are pictures of the pages. You cannot select the text afterward. Use them for a photo-heavy file you only need to email, not for a contract you still need to copy from.
Scans and OCR
OCR uses an English Tesseract model that runs in the page. The first run may download that language data. The download is the model, not your document. The tool reads up to 8 pages. Printed dark text on a flat, well-lit page is the case that works. Handwriting, stamps over words, and pages shot at an angle come out wrong.
If you can already select the words in the PDF, skip OCR and use PDF to Text. OCR on a digital letter adds mistakes. Proofread names and amounts before you trust them.
A signature stamp and a password
eSign draws a typed name or a signature you sketch onto the bottom-right of the last page, with the date. It is a picture on the page. It is not a certificate, and it does not prove who signed.
Password protect encrypts the PDF with a password you type here, at least 4 characters. That password is not sent to Pi2PDF, and we cannot reset it. Write it down somewhere else before you close the tab. Unlock a protected file before the other tools can read it.
What can still use the network
Conversion of the file you dropped stays in the tab. Other parts of the page can still make requests. Google AdSense may set cookies to show ads. Ads do not receive the bytes of your file. A visit counter may increment a number. Voice dictation uses your browser’s speech feature. OCR may fetch the English model.
If a document is confidential enough that those requests matter, do not use a website for it, including this one. The privacy policy is the full list.
If the result looks wrong
Check the limits on that tool’s page before you try the same file in a second tool. Repair reloads the PDF and copies the pages; if the file will not open, it falls back to pictures of the pages. That can rescue a download. It will not rebuild a file the browser cannot read at all.
